We have a new Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt! Congratulations to Josh Taylor, who received his Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton Blue Belt on the evening of August 6, 2018. Josh earned his Blue Belt, weathering adversity and success at competition and through his commitment to consistent training. Josh put it best in his August 7, 2018 Facebook post saying:

“I struggled mightily at first…
I used to sit in the parking lot scared to go inside, now l’m like Norm from Cheers.
I used to puke during or after most classes. Now I’m in the best shape since highschool, probably ever.
I used to have Panic Attacks before tournaments, now I still freak out but not as much. Lol

I was further humbled when presented my blue belt by Professor Sean Stewart and Don Westman yesterday. I’m honored to train under you. Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton is like home and my team is like family.

Daniel Goldberg, Walker Madden, Steve Gonzo, Heather Sarles Westman: I would have gave up along time ago without you. Thank you.

I can promise 3 things;

I won’t always be the smartest on the mat
I won’t always be the most athletic
I will always put forth the most effort”

You make us proud Josh Taylor! We are lucky to have you as a member of the BJJ Stapleton family; it is having athletes such as you on the mat that makes Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton such a great place to train.
